Children are an important part of St. Matthew. We place a high value on teaching God's Word to them in a welcoming and age appropriate manner. We have classes for all ages.

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old

they will not turn from it.                  ~ Proverbs 22:6

It is with that verse in mind that we invite you to join us for our 2017-18 Sunday School year at St. Matthew!  This year we welcome a new program, Deep Blue Kids, to lead us through our studies.  Classes are available for preschool through 8th grade. After starting our day together with fellowship, the story video for the day and snacks, we will learn through various  lessons, discussions and Bible games to dig deeper into God's word for us all!

We will meet in the Youth room after church at approximately 10:15.  Classes will run until 11:15!

We love to serve the community around us.

We are again hosting the Barrington Giving Day Back-to-School event on August 11th.  We welcome all volunteers to this event to provide clothing, shoes, and school supplies to the children in our school district.  (Click here for details on volunteering.)

Celebrate Veterans' Day serving meals to veterans, their families, and others in our community.  There's always a welcoming face & handshake and we'd love for you to be a part of it, too!  Meal to be hosted at St. Matthew on November 8th.

Serving at the Barrington 4th of July brat tent is always fun!  We were pleased to again have the opportunity to assist the local Lions Club in their hosting of the Barrington brat tent.  We donned our blue shirts and served up good food to festival attendees along with a St. Matthew smile!

April 12, 2018, we hosted The Community Meal.   Through the sharing of a meal and fellowship with our neighbors, we share God's love with those in our community.  We look forward to hosting again November 8th.

4th quarter 2017 was as busy as ever!  We ended the year with a senior luncheon  sharing fellowship and crafting of a gift which was given during Advent to the households around our church.  We packed meals at Feed My Starving Children, and then ended the Advent season by Christmas Caroling house-to-house !

We began the 3rd quarter by serving at the Barrington 4th of July celebration.  We loved seeing so many of our neighbors as we helped at the brat tent!  We followed this activity with our August hosting of the Barrington Giving Day Back-to-School event.  This is St. Matthew's 5th year to host this event where new shoes, clothing, school supplies, crafts, and a meal are provided to our guests.  This is a community-wide effort of citizens, churches, and organizations all working together to provide assistance and a fun day for others in our community.     ~ Jesus loves, so we serve!

Second quarter 2017 we held Vacation Bible School and welcomed children to learn about the love of Christ, share nightly dinners, and partake in fellowship.  We also again packed meals at Feed My Starving Children to help feed the world's hungry.                           ~Jesus loves, so we serve!

Our 2017 first quarter had us hosting The Community Meal, gathering food for local food pantries, collecting items for the Caring Crib, and beginning the planning for Giving Day.     ~ Jesus loves, so we serve.

St. Matthew takes part in many different community events throughout the year.

We host a Back to School Giving Day in cooperation with the

Barrington Giving Day organization.

We have helped serve in various capacities at the 4th of July Festival and with

The Community Meal
