What We Believe

In the Triune God ~ One God who reveals Himself in three persons: Father, Son & Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our likeness...
John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
Genesis 1:2
Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep,
and the spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
John 16:15
All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is
mine and make it known to you.

God created all things.

Genesis 1:1     In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:26
Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of
the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that
move along the ground.

Man's sin separated him from God.

Isaiah 59:2
But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you,
so that he will not hear you.

God sent Jesus into the world as a sacrifice to pay the penalty for our sin.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not
perish but have eternal life.

We are saved by God's grace (His undeserved love) not of our own merit.

Ephesians 2:8
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--
not by works, so that no one can boast.

We are to share the good news of God's grace.

Luke 24:47 ... and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations...
Revelation 14:6
... and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on earth--to every nation, tribe,
language and people.
Mark 16:15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation."

Christ will come again.

Mark 13:26
"At that time men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. And he
willsend his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends
of the heavens."
Revelation 22:7 "Behold, I am coming soon! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book."

God blesses us through two holy sacraments, Baptism and the Lord's Supper.

Mark 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
Acts 2:38-39
"Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.
And you will receive the gift of the holy spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all
who are far off."
1 Corinthians
11:26
For whenever you eat the bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
1 Corinthians
11:28-29
A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. For anyone who
eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself.

God's Word (the Bible) is inspired by God and directs our lives.

2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in
righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Psalms 119:105  Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Luke 6:47-48
I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice.
He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a
flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.
